Hidden Gems: Meet Danny Ansara of Forward Detailing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Ansara.

Hi Danny, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For the last 3 years, I managed at three Red Robin locations. I really enjoyed working there, but over time a desire to change grew within me. I’ve always thought of myself to be a very strong minded individual, and I believe that I can accomplish any goals I set for myself when I put the effort in.

In December of 2019, I was mentally preparing myself to start my LLC and leave Red Robin to pursue running my own auto detailing business. I applied for the LLC only 2 days before the beginning of 2020, as a way to hold myself accountable. By writing down my plans, and committing to them, I began to build my company. Starting with the logo, there were a few iterations which I liked. But I was looking for a profoundly different branding than what other detailers on the market are offering. I wanted it to be sleek, yet professional. I also had in mind to appeal to car buffs. With that, I was finally able to decide on a logo which embodies what my company is to this day. Once this step was finished, I started acquiring all the materials and supplies that I needed to start detailing. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, or if my business would even work out.

By May of 2020, I was ready to leave Red Robin for good. This was the best decision I had made for myself in a long time. After leaving my position at Red Robin, I went full swing in promoting and advertising my business, taking any job that came my way. I continued improving the quality and perfecting my services all the while, going as far as to take professional detailing classes in Los Angeles for 3 days. Fast Forward to today; I have purchased my second van and am in the process of hiring my first employee. I’m hopeful that with two vans I will cover more ground and acquire new business from places I haven’t before, and grow my customer base immensely. Now, I look to the future, and to what exciting new opportunities my business will bring me. I’m optimistic to say the least!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve had my fair bit of wins and losses. The biggest struggle has been staying engaged on social media, but it is something that I have made vast improvements on compared to when I started. For the most part, it’s been smooth with some hills and bumps along the way. Another struggle is standing out amongst the competition. Since there are so many detailers that are amazing at what they do, it drives me to be the absolute best that I can be for my clients and their vehicles.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Forward Detailing specializes in car care for enthusiasts and busy bodies alike. We offer interior detailing and full carpet shampoos, as well as high quality paint correction work, full ceramic coating installations, and engine bay cleaning. I take a manicured approach with all my clients, never looking at any job as the same as another. With each vehicle, there are different challenges and obstacles that must be overcome. By keeping an open mind and not limiting my decision making, I am always able to tailor a solution that fits the customers’ needs best.

I plan to expand with more vans and a shop in the near future. I would like to focus on paint corrections/enhancements as well as ceramic coating installations more.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m full of surprises!

On a serious note, I’d say one thing people find surprising about me is the fact that I love what I do and have a genuine passion for auto detailing and similar works. Also surprising is that I’ve worked and managed at a chain of oil change shops in 2019, which was definitely a change of scenery for me!
